Yes, this used to be Indian Valley Brewing — here's what's different now

For a stretch, the building at 1016 Railroad Ave was Indian Valley Brewing Co. We get asked about it all the time, so here's the short version: yes, that's the same address. No, we're not the same brewery.

The Keg Stand isn't a continuation of IVB — we're a different operation, with different owners and a different way of thinking about beer. Our story actually started in 2021 as a mobile beer-truck doing weddings and events around Northern California (the full version is on the About page). The Novato brewing facility is the next chapter of that story, opened in 2025. The building's been here a while. The brewery inside it hasn't.

A few specifics on what makes us a different brewery:

Small batches on purpose. We brew small so we can pour fresh. No warehouse time. No distribution trucks idling on a loading dock. The keg you're drinking from was tapped this week. That's the whole point of the operation — beer at peak freshness, every pint, every visit.

Rotating taps, not a permanent core lineup. If you came in last week and want the same beer again, it might still be on. It might also not be. We brew what we're excited about that month, pour it while it's at its best, then move on to the next thing. That's by design.

The same neighborhood values you'd expect. Dog-friendly. Family-friendly. Food trucks out front most weeks (the schedule rotates — check Instagram or call ahead).

The tap list is online. It updates automatically from the bar, so if you're driving down from Petaluma, over from San Rafael, or up from the city, you can check what's pouring tonight before you leave.
